Ceremony Port Kembla
Last Monday, the 17th of October, Growthbuilt hosted a ceremony to celebrate the commencement of Angilare Sydney’s newest project aimed at social and affordable housing here in NSW. The project looks to turn the already existing Port Kembla Steel Works Hotel into 30 new social housing homes.
Two of our SSA project managers, who have been working around the clock to bring this vision to life, had the honor to attend and witness this great milestone. Alongside in attendance showing great support and involvement was the NSW Minister for Communities and Justice, Hon Natasha Maclaren-Jones MLC, State member for Wollongong – Hon Paul Scully & Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery. As well a number of representatives from other companies in which also had the opportunity to be involved in this project.
During the ceremony we were also honored to have local’s from the indigenous community perform the traditional smoking ceremony, an important ceremony representing a welcome and assisting in cleansing the area and the people of bad spirits and to promote the protection and well-being of visitors. We respect and acknowledge the true custodians and indigenous people of this land.
We have been working alongside this project for a number of months now and SSA is proud to be supporting Growthbuilt and the NSW Government on this full-filling project.
We are looking forward to seeing the progress and final product shortly!
